Gruffie is a process consultant committed to building high performance teams and facilitative leaders. Her work in the areas of leadership and organizational development includes a unique mixture of assistance to programs and organizations both nationally and internationally and in the private as well as public sectors. Gruffie works as a coach, trainer, and facilitator to enhance the work that leaders and teams do. Recent work has taken her to Europe, East Africa, Sri Lanka, Siberia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Nepal, Tibet, Central and South America and throughout the United States, where she worked in corporate, governmental and adventure settings with dynamic teams who accomplished unique goals.
Corporate clients include General Electric, General Motors, Banana Republic and The Gap, Ingersoll-Rand, and Merck Pharmaceuticals. She also maintains a public clientele that includes USAID, and the Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She has designed and facilitated multiple change initiatives and strategic planning sessions, including GE’s Work-Out and Change Acceleration programs. She’s worked with Federal Express, the PIERCE Program, and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in a six-month partnership and change initiative. She serves as a business coach and faculty member for GM’s change management strategies, GoFast! and Leading Change. Gruffie has conducted change management initiatives in businesses in North America, Mexico, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Australia, Africa and South America. She is currently consulting with World Vision, a global NGO as a master change coach, executive coach and a change management specialist.
Gruffie is co-author of, “Trendbenders: Building Vital Communities”. She is an author of “Facilitating Community Partnerships”, a community change model and training guide used to increase team members’ interaction, problem-solving and decision-making skills. She has spent four years as Project Director for a private, non-governmental organization creating community development and health projects in Africa. With an Outward Bound background, she regularly uses mountaineering and outdoor situations in her work with individuals and teams.
