Press Forward teamed up with Poynter to launch “Us Too”
The Poynter Institute, a nonprofit journalism education center with more than 40 years of experience transforming newsrooms and journalists, and Press Forward, a post-MeToo, female-founded start-up dedicated to creating healthy newsrooms, are partnering to provide sexual harassment training specifically geared toward media organizations.
Fruit Guys Community Fund will give out $60k in small farm grants in 2020
Each year, the FruitGuys have received more requests for funding than they can fulfill. At the end of last year, they hoped to raise $5,000 in added funding through their Give and Grow Good Campaign, enabling them to support two additional farms. Thanks to generous supporters, the campaign was a success. They raised $9,587 to help fund more small farms across the U.S. This outpouring of support allowed them to increase overall 2020 grant-making budget to approximately $60,000.
Immigrants Rising announced their new pre-law fund
Immigrants Rising’s Pre-Law Fund will provide financial support of up to $2,500 to low-income immigrants who are planning to attend law school. Grants will cover LSAT preparation (courses, tutoring, self-study materials, etc) and law school application fees. In addition to financial support, recipients will be connected to Immigrants Rising’s network of legal professionals.
