Casey Budesilich
Board Member
Casey Budesilich was named Chief Operating Officer of the James Irvine Foundation in October 2020. Since 2016 he was the Foundation’s Director of Finance and Administration, where he was responsible for the effective planning and stewardship of the Foundation’s financial and administrative resources. With a diverse background of experience with nonprofits and community organizations, he has expertise in operational and financial management, resource and organizational development, and business analytics.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Casey served as the Director of Client Services at Tides, a social enterprise accelerating positive social change, where he oversaw service delivery for over 160 fiscally-sponsored projects and 350 grantmaking clients. Other prior experiences include streamlining national operations as the Deputy Director at World Savvy, and developing and launching a five-year, $15 million growth initiative as the National Growth Director at the Breakthrough Collaborative.
Casey earned a master’s in Urban Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Planning, Public Policy, and Management from the University of Oregon. His research included work on how non-governmental organizations build a framework for the development of civic society and models for how nonprofits can collaborate in urban environments to advance community development efforts.
