Ruth Williams of Community Initiatives Joins Charity Navigator’s Consultative Council of Nonprofit Leaders

Ruth Joins Charity Navigator's Consultative Counsel of Nonprofit Leaders[Oakland, CA, 8/26/2022] – Community Initiatives is proud to announce that Ruth Williams, CEO & President, is one of thirty nonprofit leaders (out of a pool of 400 applicants) to be selected to serve on Charity Navigator’s Consultative Council of Nonprofit Leaders (CCNL). Formed in June 2020, the CCNL advises Charity Navigator on various aspects of the sector, sheds light on factors influencing nonprofit success, and works collaboratively to help strengthen the organization’s current and future initiatives.

“Being selected to serve on Charity Navigator’s Consultative Council of Nonprofit Leaders is an honor,” said Ruth. She also shared, “I look forward to collaborating with a panel of other nonprofit leaders to help shape the future work of Charity Navigator in galvanizing donor giving.”

Since 1996, Community Initiatives, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has served as a comprehensive fiscal sponsor to more than 100 organizations addressing a variety of causes. We take care of the backend administration so our fiscally sponsored projects can focus on social change and impacting the communities they serve. In addition to lending our 501(c)(3) status to nonqualified projects, Community Initiatives’ services include human resources and payroll, financial management, tax preparation and compliance, risk management and insurance, legal counsel, coaching, and donation management. 

Our core staff of 21 works hands-on, daily, to collaborate with our fiscally sponsored projects. By working with Community Initiatives, our fiscally sponsored projects save considerable time as well as 10 to 20 percent of their operating budgets.

Community Initiatives has supported our partner projects as they provide critical programs for causes including social justice, youth empowerment, education, environmental concerns, the arts, homelessness, senior services, mental health, community safety, animal rights, and many more.
