1871 Memorial Project

The central purpose of the 1871 Memorial Project is to raise private individual, corporate, foundation, and non-municipal public funds to build a permanent physical memorial to the massacre of the Chinese in Los Angeles in 1871. The 1871 Memorial Project will also seek to represent the community’s voice in interactions with the design team and with officials charged with responsibility for building the memorial. It will also seek to raise public awareness of the 1871 massacre.
