21st Century Federal Writers’ Project

The 21st Century Federal Writers’ Project is a special program of Community Initiatives. It will resurrect, reimagine and altogether reinvent the original Federal Writers’ Project for a new century. Following the historical template, we expect to produce 50 guides–online as well as in print–one for each of the United States, as well as documentary, podcast, and other media. The aim of these guides is to produce a nonpartisan family portrait of the nation.
