Revitalizing Opportunities for the Alderpoint Region

Revitalizing Opportunities for the Alderpoint Region’s (ROAR) purpose is to obtain California State Coastal Conservancy grant funding to complete the planning (obtain all required permits and comply with the California Environmental Quality Act) for a 4.5-mile Alderpoint area Great Redwood Trail segment, envisioning a more beautiful, restored, protected, and accessible Eel River watershed for all. As ROAR rallies their severely disadvantaged community to help plan and build a world class hiking, biking, and equestrian trail, they will also, simultaneously train and support the workforce, mentor youth, restore contaminated habitats, boost the region’s economy, heal the watershed ecology, mitigate wildfire risk, and strengthen the Alderpoint community’s hope and resilience.
