Sarah Katz-Hyman

Sarah brings over 12 years of non-profit and public service experience to the Community Initiatives team. Their work with community-based organizations and federal agencies focused on program development, community outreach and events, fiscal sponsorship management, fundraising and development, and partnership management.

Sarah joined Community Initiatives in 2025 and is excited to support the wide variety of projects and communities that are part of their network. Originally from southeastern Virginia, Sarah received their BA in Journalism and BS in Environmental Science from the University of Maryland. They moved to California over a decade ago and have enjoyed making the Bay Area their home.

Outside of the office they enjoy riding their bike, exploring San Francisco, and producing and hosting comedy and storytelling shows around the city.
